Civil Engineer

Overview WJH Engineering is looking to add a Civil Engineer (PE) to our team in Oakhurst, NJ. This is a high-impact opportunity to work across a diverse range of projects including land development, site planning, drainage, and environmental engineering , while helping lead and mentor a collaborative, in-office team. About Us We are a team of experienced professionals delivering expertise across: Land development and site planning Surveying and drainage design Municipal and private development projects We place a strong emphasis on communication, both internally and with clients, as a core part of how we deliver successful projects What You’ll Do Manage and support site civil and land development projects Provide guidance and oversight on design Prepare and review site plans, subdivision layouts, and drainage designs Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and permitting processes Collaborate closely with internal teams and external stakeholders Conduct occasional site visits and inspections (limited travel) Play a key role in project execution and team development What We’re Looking For 8+ years of civil engineering experience (10+ preferred) Professional Engineer (PE) license in New Jersey (required) Strong experience in site civil, land development, and drainage design Background in permitting, regulatory compliance, and subdivision planning Experience with AutoCAD, GIS, or similar tools preferred Strong communication skills, both internally and externally (critical for success) Ability to manage projects and oversee others, not just hands-on design We are a collaborative, in-office team where communication and accessibility matter. Team of ~18, with direct access to leadership Open, communicative culture where ideas are shared and valued Engineers are encouraged to be involved beyond just design work This is the right environment for someone who values team interaction, visibility, and collaboration , not a remote-first setup.
