Work includes engaging with customers and field sales to provide technical expertise including; gaining customer specific needs/opportunities/insights, performing product and application characterization, application development, and creating technical information. The role requires strong collaboration with product development, product engineering, and marketing and will be heavily focused on New Product Introduction programs.Key Responsibilities:Lead voice of customer efforts to support new product development programs.Identify and communicate future market trends and product needs for the adhesives business.Support liquid adhesive dispensing and spray automation.Creating new application demonstration tools.Training customers, sales reps, and international colleagues.Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)Two (2) years of Application Engineering experience in a private, public, government or military environmentFour (4) years laboratory environment experience in a private, public, government or military environmentAdditional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:Bachelor's degree or higher in Polymer/Plastics Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited institutionTwo (2) plus year experience working with adhesivesProficient in adhesive test methods and quality systemsExperience in adhesive dispensing/automation equipmentExcellent organizational skillsStrong problem solving / troubleshooting skillsStrong people skills and ability to influence, collaborate, and work with cross-functional teamSelf-directed and internally motivated with proven leadership skillsWork location:This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week in Maplewood, MNTravel: May include up to 15% domestic/internationalRelocation: Not authorizedMust be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).Supporting Your Well-being3M offers many programs to help you live your best life – both physically and financially.
