Step into an impactful role providing vital occupational therapy services across multiple school settings near Elgin, IL. As a contract Occupational Therapist, you’ll collaborate with dedicated educators and support students from Pre-K through transition ages (up to 22), helping them thrive academically and personally. This full-time, itinerant opportunity spans several elementary, middle, and high schools, ensuring dynamic and meaningful experiences each day.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active clinical license with the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
- Active educator license from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE)
- Previous experience in a school setting highly preferred
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Completion of required fingerprinting for credentialing
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group occupational therapy services to students with diverse needs
- Collaborate with teaching staff, families, and other support professionals to develop and implement IEP goals
- Effectively manage a varying caseload, adapting support strategies to students’ age and developmental levels
- Travel between assigned schools within the district as part of an itinerant schedule
- Accurately document and report student progress, contributing to ongoing program development
This position is on-site only, offering you the chance to build meaningful connections with students and staff while making a difference in their educational journey. The contract runs through the school year, with full-time daytime hours (between 35-37.5 hours per week), matched to school site schedules.
