Lab Aide - Part Time

A laboratory in the Basic Sciences Division is recruiting an hourly Lab Aide for 16-18 hours per week . The Aide will coordinate with lab members and work a consistent weekly schedule (i.e., 3x 6 hours) with some flexibility for shift days/times after the initial training period.

This is not a summer only job. This is an ongoing part time opportunity at our South Lake Union Campus.

Responsibilities

• Care and maintenance of fly stocks.
• General lab maintenance, including preparation of lab reagents and stock solutions, cleaning, sterilizing labware, and other duties, as assigned.
• Provide back-up support to Fly Kitchen when necessary.
• Attention to detail essential.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School diploma or equivalent with an interest in the sciences.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Some lab experience and/or college level chemistry courses preferred.
• Reliable and able to produce consistent high quality results.

Must be able to lift trays weighing 20-30 pounds.

The hourly pay range for this position is from $21.30 to $30.13 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.

Although Fred Hutch is not sponsoring most H-1B visas at this time, candidates who already hold an H-1B sponsored by another organization and are currently in the U.S. may be eligible for this position.
