RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM (3x12 schedule)
• Every other weekend coverage required with unit directing weekend assignments based on operational needs
• Patient ratio of 1:6 for days, nights, and weekends
• Float required to Telemetry and Medical/Surgical units as needed (these units have 1:5/1:6 ratios)
• No call responsibilities required
• 2 years of nursing experience required
• Must have completed at least 1 travel assignment
• PCU/IMC/Stepdown experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
• Must successfully pass Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with minimum 80% overall score and 100% on lethal rhythms
• 24 hours of orientation provided
• Care for adult patients with diagnoses including CHF, diabetes, COPD/asthma, sepsis, pneumothorax, ESRD/dialysis, hypertension/hypotension, ETOH withdrawal, and general surgery
• Perform procedures including chest tube management, PCA infusions, bedside monitoring, non-titratable drips, and IV infusions
• Work with specialized equipment including bedside monitoring for up to 8 patients, ultrasound IV, cardiac monitoring, and lift equipment
• Skills include BiPAP/CPAP management, central line care, feeding tube management, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and telemetry monitoring

This healthcare facility operates a 15-bed Intermediate Care Unit providing specialized care for patients requiring a higher level of monitoring than general medical floors but less intensive than ICU care. The facility offers comprehensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary services. The organization maintains modern equipment and technology to support quality patient care and has established strict compliance requirements to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
