Key Responsibilities of the Interventional Radiology Technologist

• Monitors and interprets hemodynamic monitoring.
• Observes sterile techniques and prepares supplies for the lab.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient and unit information.
• Prepares entry site using sterile technique.
• Monitors patient's ECG and blood pressure, advising physicians accurately.
• Participates in on-call rotation and remains available for emergencies.
• Acts as the laboratory's code team under direct supervision.
• Documents all procedures and manages inventory control.
• Participates in educational opportunities and instructs students in clinical settings.
• Specializes in Neuroradiology and Vascular IR procedures.
• Manages inventory and checks patient preparedness prior to procedures.
• Participates in performance improvement activities.

Requirements of the Interventional Radiology Technologist

• ARRT(R) and BLS certifications required; ACLS preferred.
• Experience with neuro procedures like cerebral's, coiling's, Kyphoplasty, and more.
• Radiation badge must be provided by the agency.
