Registered Nurse - ER

Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) position available at Heart of America in Rugby, ND. This is a direct hire opportunity with a sign-on bonus of $5,000, paid out at 90 days and 6 months. The position requires a commitment of 12-hour night shifts, with a target start date of September 30, 2024, and a length of assignment of 99 weeks. The wage range is $34 - $42 per hour. Preferred certifications include BLS, ACLS, ENPC, and PALS.

The facility is a Level 5 trauma center that receives strokes and STEMIs. The ER has 4 beds and 2 trauma bays. The department does not have a fast track or separate triage area for travelers. There are no separate psych/seclusion rooms. On average, the ER treats 6-15 patients per day. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 nurse at a time. Midlevel providers are available 24/7, and CNAs and paramedics may assist during high volume or acuity. Respiratory therapy is not available in the ER, and tele/monitor techs are not required. Phlebotomy draws labs, unless an IV is being started.

Self-scheduling is allowed with 12-hour shifts, and the weekend and holiday requirements are 2 out of 6 and every other, respectively. There is no call or standby requirement, and floating to acute med/surg is required. Scrub color is any clean and appropriate fit.
