First Grade Teacher

Description The mission of Missionary Christian School (MCS) is to provide academic excellence while nurturing students spiritually, academically, socially, and emotionally through a biblical worldview. Position Summary MCS is seeking a passionate, dedicated, and qualified First Grade Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. The ideal candidate loves young learners, is committed to Christian education, and can create a nurturing, engaging, and academically challenging classroom where students thrive. Primary Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction aligned with the school’s curriculum. Teach core subjects, including Reading, Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies/Heritage, and Bible. Integrate biblical principles and a Christian worldview into daily instruction and classroom activities. Foster a safe, respectful, and Christ-centered classroom environment. Differentiated instruction to meet the individual learning needs of students. Assess student progress through a variety of formal and informal methods. Maintain accurate attendance, grades, and student records. Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, behavior, and classroom activities. Collaborate with administrators, support staff, and fellow teachers to promote student success. Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, chapel services, school events, and other assigned responsibilities. Model Christian character, professionalism, and servant leadership in all interactions. Qualifications Required Personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a lifestyle that reflects biblical values. Active involvement in a Bible-believing church. Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a related field. Excellent classroom management and organizational skills. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities. Passion for teaching young children and helping them grow academically and spiritually. Commitment to the mission and philosophy of Christian education. Preferred Florida Teaching Certificate or eligibility for certification. Previous experience teaching first grade or elementary students. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus. Desired Characteristics Loves children and has a heart for Christian education.
