Job Title: PCU Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: West Virginia RN license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS required Must-Have: Must have chest tube insertion assistance, management, and removal experience. Central line experience is required. Experience with external/internal pacemakers and wound vacs is required. Description: Seeking a PCU Registered Nurse for open heart progressive care. This unit serves post-operative open heart and other cardiothoracic surgical patients requiring cardiac monitoring. The position includes accepting medical/surgical overflow. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 4:1. Clinicians may be floated within their scope to meet facility needs. The schedule requires every other weekend. Candidates must be open to accommodating blocked schedule requests. Additional responsibilities include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias. Experience with telemetry and critical drip medications is essential. The unit collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, and social services. Candidates should have experience with adult and geriatric populations. References from managers or charge nurses within the past 2 years are required. Previous charge experience is preferred. Other preferred experiences include community hospital and long-term acute care.
