Position: Travel RN – CVOR
Department: Open Heart Surgery
Hours: 40 hours/week
Shift: 10-hour shifts
Employment Type: Travel Contract
What You’ll Do
As a CVOR RN , you’ll be an essential member of the cardiovascular surgical team, providing expert nursing care throughout the perioperative process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide safe, comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing cardiovascular and open-heart surgical procedures
- Prepare the operating room, equipment, supplies, and surgical instruments
- Assist with patient positioning, surgical preparation, and intraoperative care
- Maintain strict sterile technique and infection-prevention standards
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists, surgical technologists, and other members of the multidisciplinary team
- Monitor patient status and respond promptly to changes or emergencies
- Ensure accurate documentation and adherence to surgical protocols
- Participate in preoperative and postoperative patient care as required
- Promote patient safety throughout the surgical experience
What We’re Looking For
- Active RN license in the applicable state
- Current BLS ,ACLS certification
- Recent CVOR/Open Heart Surgery experience
- Strong knowledge of cardiovascular surgical procedures and perioperative nursing practices
- Excellent critical-thinking and clinical assessment skills
- Ability to remain calm and focused in a high-acuity surgical environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skillsCommitment to maintaining patient safety and the highest standards of care
