Responsibilities Essential Job Functions: Courtesy Clerk/Grocery Bagger is responsible for bagging groceries at check out for customers. Strive to bag at least five items while ensuring contents are not damaged. Follow best practices for bagging items in various types of bags (reusable, plastic, paper). Assist in removing customer merchandise from bottom of bascarts for checkout. Offer to help customers load bags into their cars. Perform basic shelf conditioning and restocking. Inform customers of grocery specials. Return merchandise to store shelves. Gather and return bascarts to designated areas. Clean spills, collect trash inside the store and parking lot. Clean all areas inside and outside of the store. Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise. Understand store layout, locate products, and conduct price checks for cashiers. Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures; report unsafe conditions or issues. Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines. Inspect equipment regularly and notify management of repairs needed. Create a welcoming environment by assisting customers with questions about products. Follow all local, state, federal laws, and company guidelines. Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment. Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational manner. Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information. Follow directions and seek assistance when needed. Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults. Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
