Neuro Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse

This is a 13-week contract position.

Night shift: 3x12-Hour (18:45 - 07:15)

We are seeking a skilled Neuro Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse with a strong background in neuro critical care. The selected candidate will provide comprehensive care for patients with neurological conditions, primarily focusing on stroke management.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and manage care for neuro patients, including those with strokes, craniotomies, and external ventricular drains.
• Conduct assessments and implement care plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
• Administer medications and blood products as required, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.
• Perform advanced nursing tasks such as ICP monitoring, central line care, and continuous IV sedation.
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans and post-operative care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a Neuro Intensive Care Unit.
• Current ACLS and BCLS certifications.
• Experience with arterial line management and care of ventilated patients preferred.
• Must be comfortable with patient ratios of 2:1, flexing to 3:1 as needed during high census.
• Must pass EKG Testing prior to start.
