Physician - Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist

Overview Ochsner Children’s Hospital is seeking board certified/eligible Pediatric Cardiac Intensivists trained in Critical Care Medicine or Cardiology with advanced training in Cardiac Critical Care or significant experience in Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care to join the expanding team in New Orleans, Louisiana. Opportunity Details Approximately 300 cardiac surgical cases performed each year and growing. Only heart transplant and ventricular assist device program in the state. Complex cardiac congenital cath program. APP supported team, with goals to expand to 24/7 coverage. Multiple advanced cardiology subspecialties: EP, advanced cardiac imaging, and ACHD. What we offer More than 85 primary care pediatricians and 290+ subspecialists across 27 locations in Louisiana and Mississippi. Regional leader in complex pediatric care, with advanced programs in congenital heart surgery and cardiac transplantation, liver and bone marrow transplantation, hematology‑oncology and AYA oncology, advanced GI and hepatology, comprehensive surgical subspecialty group (craniofacial and advanced spine surgery), and the Gulf South’s only comprehensive developmental pediatrics center. Facilities & Growth 67‑bed Level IV NICU 14‑bed PICU and 12‑bed CVICU 4‑bed NAEC‑accredited Level IV Pediatric EMU 44‑bed Pediatric Acute Care Unit with a dedicated Pediatric ED 24/7 neonatal and pediatric transport team with ground, rotary, and fixed‑wing aircraft support Future growth: construction underway for a new 5‑story Children’s Hospital , opening in late 2027/early 2028 and planned expansion of neonatal services Education & Research ACGME‑accredited pediatric residency program; Ochsner Pediatric Residency Program.
