We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Associate to join our accounting team in Woodside, NY.As a Payroll Associate, you will manage accurate and timely payroll processing for all employee groups, including executives, exempt, non-exempt, union, and non-union staff. You will ensure compliance with payroll tax laws, maintain payroll records, and perform reconciliations and reporting. Experience with payroll software and general ledger systems, preferably within an automotive dealership, is required.Responsibilities include obtaining and verifying payroll data such as new hires, terminations, salary changes, bonuses, commissions, tax allocations, and deductions prior to payroll processing. You will process payroll transactions and ensure timely payment for all employees. Coordination with management to review and approve preliminary payroll batches, analyze and reconcile payroll and payroll tax general ledger accounts, ensure compliance with all payroll tax regulations, organizational policies, and union agreements, accurately integrate payroll data into financial and accounting systems, manage timely electronic payroll feeds and perform reconciliations, prepare and file payroll tax forms; address payroll tax issues year-round and during calendar year-end, communicate updates and project progress to the CFO, Operations Controller, and General Managers, investigate and resolve payroll-related employee or system issues, manage reporting requirements related to the Affordable Care Act, and perform additional duties as assigned to support department objectives.This full-time role is based at our Woodside, NY dealership.
