Job Summary


Protech Staffing is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist for a growing structural steel fabrication company that has been an industry leader for over 55 years. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a small, highly skilled machine shop where every team member plays a critical role.


The selected candidate will work in a 3-4 person machine shop , operating, setting up, and programming CNC equipment while also utilizing manual machining equipment. This is a hands-on role requiring strong machining knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to produce high-quality precision parts.


Key Responsibilities

• Set up, program, and operate CNC machining equipment.
• Machine precision components while maintaining tight tolerances.
• Operate primarily Siemens-controlled CNC equipment.
• Work with manual machining equipment including mills, lathes, grinders, and other shop equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and machining specifications.
• Select proper tooling, fixtures, and machining methods.
• Inspect finished parts to ensure quality standards are met.
• Troubleshoot machining and programming issues.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Collaborate with a small team to support production and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Manual Vertical & Horizontal Mills
• Engine Lathes
• Bridgeport Mills
• Grinders
• Additional manual machining equipment
• Siemens CNC Controls (primary)

Qualifications

• 5-10+ years of machining experience preferred
• Strong experience with CNC setup, programming, and operation.
• Experience using Siemens CNC controls is highly preferred.
• Experience operating manual machining equipment.
• Ability to read blueprints and precision measuring instruments.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Formal certifications are not required. Candidates will be evaluated based on demonstrated machining knowledge and hands-on experience.
