Job Posting Description

We are seeking an entry-level, part-time (20 hours) Flow Cytometry Research Assistant to join the HSCI-BCH flow core lab team at the Hematology/Oncology Department in Boston Children's Hospital. The primary duty of the FACS Research Assistant is to provide high quality flow cytometry service and support to HSCI/BCH flow core Investigators and the Boston research community. This position comes with partial benefits from Boston Children's Hospital.

This Research Assistant I will be responsible for:

• Performing cell sorting on our BD FACSAria II.
• Assisting the HSCI/BCH Flow Core with data analysis as well as providing support to Flow Core investigators with software tutorials.
• Performing maintenance, troubleshoot, and update of the HSCI/BCH Flow Core website and iLab.
• Billing, invoicing, and detail record keeping for Flow Core.

In order to qualify, you must have:

• Proficiency with PC and MAC platforms and commonly used software such as Microsoft Office and Photoshop is required. Knowledge of Illustrator software is preferred.
• A Bachelor's Degree in arts and sciences.
• Cell sorting experience and knowledge of Flow cytometry data analysis software is not required and training will be provided to the qualified candidate.
• The candidate should be able to work with minimal supervision, be flexible and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving, and writing along with verbal communication skills.
