Description Compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor Needed! Position Overview The Substance abuse counselor will be in charge of assisting patients through medically assisted treatments and offering techniques for handling opioid addiction. Counselor conducts individual and group sessions to assist with crisis management and coping strategies. The counselor will evaluate patients’ progress during counseling and collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other counselors to assist patients in achieving overall outcomes. Responsibilities Provide individual and group counseling services; direct service hours at regularly scheduled intervals; coordinate all services throughout treatment Ensure efficient and effective delivery of counseling services to all patients Conduct individual initial assessment and evaluation interviews for service eligibility determination Facilitate, establish, and review initial treatment plans with each patient Complete bio‑psychosocial assessment Develop aftercare plans and discharge plans Other related duties as determined by supervisor Qualifications CITs will be accepted if they have obtained their number and meet the educational requirements. Previous experience working with chemically dependent individuals is a plus. Must demonstrate a positive, non‑judgmental, and accepting attitude toward our patient population. Ability to collaborate with compassionate and knowledgeable counseling team members. Satisfactory criminal background check and drug screen.
