Make an impact as a Special Education Teacher, supporting students with cognitive impairments for the full school year. This contract opportunity is in a welcoming educational environment near Mason, MI. The focus is on delivering specialized instruction within a CI classroom setting, helping each learner reach their full potential.
Your expertise and compassion will be essential in developing individualized education plans and fostering an inclusive atmosphere that promotes student growth.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification
- CI (Cognitive Impairment) endorsement required
- Experience working with students in a special education setting preferred
- Ability to collaborate with fellow staff, families, and other professionals
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Responsibilities:
- Provide instruction and support for students with cognitive impairments in a full-time classroom
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Adapt lessons and teaching approaches to meet diverse student needs
- Collect and analyze student progress data, adjusting strategies as needed
- Communicate regularly with families, support staff, and administration
- Create a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment
- Maintain compliance with all state and federal regulations
