Pub Server

The Ohioan Hotel and Event Center (Formally Nationwide Hotel and Conference Center) located in Lewis Center, Ohio is searching for a Pub Server to join our team! Our property is one of the largest venues in Columbus. During the week we hold a wide variety of meetings and during the weekend we host weddings! We are offering a $500 sign on bonus!!

Job Summary:

As a Pub Server, your primary responsibilities evolve around the guest experience. In Food Service, there are both service and product knowledge expectations, with a significant focus on maintaining a hospitable mindset. The team serves a combination of both Food & Beverage and does so in a variety of different venues with a focus on the Pub.

Essential Functions:

1. Greet guests promptly and professionally upon arrival.
2. Present menus, answer questions, and provide recommendations to enhance guest experience.
3. Take food and beverage orders accurately and enter them into the POS.
4. Serve food and beverage in prompt, courteous manner as per the standard sequence of service.
5. Anticipate and beware of guest needs before and during service in order to provide high quality service and high guest satisfaction.
6. Monitor guest alcohol consumption, verify identification as required, and follow responsible alcohol service procedures.
7. Monitor guest comments and report complaints immediately to Manager, and be pro-active in solving problems.
8. Operating point of sale system, collecting payment, and balancing cash receipts.
9. Maintain cleanliness and organization of tables, service stations, and dining areas throughout the shift.
10. Complete side work, opening duties and closing responsibilities, to include daily and weekly tasks as assigned.
11. Communicate effectively with team members, including the kitchen, to ensure smooth service execution

Physical Requirements:

These physical demands represent the physical requirements necessary for an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. Reasonable accommodation can be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the described essential functions of the position.

1. Ability to lift, reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull heavy workloads, exert up to 100 pounds of force and the ability to regularly lift 55 lbs.
2. Position requires standing for entire shift

Qualifications, Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:

1. Must be of legal age to serve alcohol
2. Must be TIPS Certified or willing to obtain
3. Previous POS usage is preferred
4. Excellent communication, marketing, and sales skills
5. Prior experience working in an upscale restaurant
6. Guest-centric mentality with superior customer service
7. Knowledge of bartending and mixing drinks is a plus
8. Basic reading, writing, and math skills
9. High school diploma
