Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Cath Lab

Location: Hyannis, Massachusetts

Job Type: Contract Assignment

Contract Length: 13 Weeks

Job Summary

The Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) provides specialized nursing care for patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures. The RN is responsible for patient assessment, monitoring, medication administration, procedural support, and post-procedure recovery while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and quality care.

Required Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) License
• Current BLS Certification
• Current ACLS Certification
• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing
• Acute Cardiac Unit or Stepdown experience required
• Demonstrated IV administration skills
• Telemetry monitoring experience required
• Ability to wear lead apron during procedures
• Must pass Pharmacology and Basic Arrhythmia exams prior to start
• Strong cardiac assessment and monitoring skills
• On-call availability for off-shifts, weekends, and holidays

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care throughout the cardiac procedure process
• Monitor and administer medications according to physician orders
• Provide pre-procedure, intra-procedure, and post-procedure patient care
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Manage post-procedure cardiac patients including PCI, ablation, pacemaker/ICD, and TAVR patients
• Administer and monitor vasoactive medications
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and care plans
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams
• Ensure compliance with infection control and patient safety standards
• Participate in patient education and discharge planning
• Provide excellent customer service to patients and families

Preferred Qualifications

• Recent Cardiovascular Interventional Nursing experience
• BSN Degree
• CCRN Certification
• CRN Certification
• Cath Lab experience within the last 5 years
