Position Overview

As a ITSM Release Manager, your roles and responsibilities will include:

• Collaborate with Software Engineering, QA, DevOps, and Business teams to streamline and automate the software release process.
• Ensure cadenced, organized, and automated releases.
• Support the establishment, documentation and maintenance of release management processes and procedures.
• Assist with scheduling of releases and maintain the release calendar.
• Assist with strategy, creation, and management of release branches.
• Understand and communicate the impacts of branch and code merge(s).
• Collaborate with development and DevOps to understand impacts of branches and code merges.
• Work with technical and business teams to prioritize and scope scheduled releases.
• Resolve release conflicts.
• Help identify risks and resolve issues that affect release scope, schedule, and quality.
• Ensure accurate release reporting.
• Participate in release retrospectives.

Qualifications

The ideal ITSM Release Manager would be someone with deep experience in many (if not all) of the following:

• Education and Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Relevant professional certification(s) in release management or project management is a plus.
• Proven experience in release management or a similar role in a software development environment.
• Strong understanding of release management processes.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills with a variety of stakeholders from cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and DevOps best practices.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle stress and setbacks efficiently.
