Offer Based on Years of Experience What You Need to Know Hospice Team Physician Responsibilities Serve as a clinical leader within the Interdisciplinary Group (IDG), contributing to care planning, team discussions, and quality improvement efforts. Provide medical care and guidance for hospice patients, including symptom management, medication review, and support when the Attending Physician is unavailable. Participate in developing, reviewing, and updating individualized Plans of Care to ensure patient and family needs are met. Complete required certifications, recertifications, and face-to-face encounter attestations in accordance with hospice regulations. Collaborate with Attending Physicians, referring providers, patients, and families regarding care plans, prognosis, and medical decisions. Participate in on-call coverage to ensure continuous (24/7) physician availability and provide timely clinical support. Support appropriate hospice admissions, recertifications, revocations, and discharges. Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant medical documentation. Why AccentCare? Team Physician Qualifications: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from an accredited institution. Active, unrestricted medical license in the state of Maryland. DEA certification for prescribing controlled substances. Strong understanding of primary medical care principles. Working knowledge of hospice and palliative care, including symptom and pain management. Familiarity with hospice regulations and Medicare requirements. Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with Attending Physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
