Work Environment\n

As a remote-based position, this role offers flexibility while ensuring that team members remain closely connected. Our outpatient setting allows for collaborative interactions with a multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals, facilitating integrated care. Regular team meetings and case consultations mark our commitment to continuous improvement and professional development. The typical work schedule runs Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility based on patient needs and availability.

Key Responsibilities\n

  • Conduct thorough, trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate patients' trauma histories and inform appropriate treatment strategies.

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans focusing on trauma recovery and resilience-building, employing evidence-based methodologies.

  • Utilize therapeutic interventions such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to address patients' needs.

  • Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions aimed at helping patients process their trauma, develop effective coping strategies, and promote emotional healing.

  • Collaborate with psychiatrists and other mental health professionals to ensure that patients receive integrated and comprehensive care.

  • Respond to crisis situations with effective crisis intervention strategies during trauma-related emergencies.

  • Educate patients and their families about the effects of trauma, coping mechanisms, and resources available for support.

  • Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation aligned with legal and ethical standards in mental health care.

  • Engage in ongoing professional development and stay updated on the latest research and best practices in trauma therapy through case consultations and training opportunities.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This position primarily focuses on serving individuals grappling with trauma-related challenges. Our patient population includes trauma survivors from diverse backgrounds, which necessitates a deep understanding of trauma responses and effective therapeutic intervention techniques. Your expertise will directly contribute to improving patient outcomes by assisting them on their journey toward recovery, resilience, and overall mental well-being.

Qualifications\n

  • Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

  • Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in the state of New York.

  • A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure clinical experience in mental health counseling, with a focus on trauma preferred.

  • In-depth knowledge of trauma-related disorders and effective trauma-informed treatment modalities.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating a compassionate, non-judgmental approach to patient care.

Compensation and Benefits\n

Touchstone Therapy Center offers a competitive salary range of USD 80,000 to 104,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
