Perception Engineer

If your last three perception jobs all ended with "flatten it to 2D," this one won't. I'm recruiting, on a confidential and exclusive basis, for an outdoor robotics company past the demo stage. Machines deployed on live customer sites. Real revenue. Manufacturing scaling to keep up with demand. But that's not the interesting part. Their robots operate in genuinely 3D environments, with active overhead obstacles. Which means the usual on-road AV move, flatten everything to a 2D grid, simply doesn't work here. They need someone who's actually built and shipped real 3D or 2.5D perception. Not someone who's spent years optimizing a 2D assumption that happens to hold on a road.
