Lunch Manager I, Elementary Please Provide: Cover Letter This position is for approximately 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday. There are partial benefits. Position Overview The Lunch Manager I, Elementary supports food service operations at an assigned elementary school site. This position organizes food preparation activities, supervises cafeteria staff, monitors meal service operations, maintains inventory and records, and ensures compliance with nutritional standards and health regulations. Key Responsibilities Coordinate daily cafeteria operations including scheduling, meal accounts, and menu planning. Estimate food preparation quantities and adjust recipes to meet projected meal service needs. Implement menu plans and accommodate special dietary needs. Inspect food and supply deliveries to verify quality and quantities. Maintain inventory of food, supplies, and equipment. Maintain sanitary conditions in kitchen and food service areas. Monitor food service operations to ensure compliance with health and safety standards. Train and orient new cafeteria employees on work procedures. Oversee food preparation, cooking, and serving operations.li> Prepare meal program reports, logs, and documentation. Procure food, equipment, and supplies to maintain adequate inventory. Respond to inquiries from students, staff, and the public regarding meal services. Supervise cafeteria personnel to ensure efficient food service operations. Perform other related duties as assigned. Job Requirements – Minimum Qualifications Skills Operating kitchen equipment and office software Planning and coordinating food service operations Preparing and maintaining accurate records Knowledge Food preparation methods and sanitation practices Safety procedures for commercial kitchens Nutritional service standards and regulations Abilities Communicate effectively with staff and students Work collaboratively in a team environment Manage detailed food service records and schedules Adapt to interruptions and changing service demands Responsibility Works under limited supervision while directing food service workers and coordinating school meal service operations. Work Environment Work is performed primarily in kitchen and cafeteria environments with exposure to temperature changes and moderate physical activity. Experience Job-related experience with increasing responsibility in a school kitchen environment required. Education High school plus job-related coursework. Required Testing None specified. Certificates and Licenses Food Handlers / ServSafe Certificate Continuing Education / Training District required training annually Maintains certificates and/or licenses Clearances Mandated Reporter Training Criminal Background / Fingerprinting Check Reporting Relationship Reports to the assigned supervisor.
