Position Overview The Urban Renewal Center is seeking a dedicated and skilled Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our team as a full-time mental health professional. In this crucial role, you will provide therapy to individuals facing various mood disorders, enhancing their well-being and quality of life through personalized care and evidence-based interventions. Work Environment This position offers the flexibility of a remote work setting, ensuring that you can effectively reach and serve patients in need while maintaining a good work-life balance. Your work schedule will be Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Although this is a remote role, you will be part of a collaborative team that communicates regularly through virtual meetings and case discussions, allowing for professional growth and shared learning. Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough evaluations to assess the severity, frequency, and duration of mood disorder symptoms presented by clients. Collaborate with clients to create tailored treatment plans that reflect their individual needs, goals, and personal preferences, ensuring engagement in the therapeutic process. Utilize evidence-based therapies, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to provide structured support and interventions. Educate clients and their families on mood disorders, available treatment options, and effective self-care practices to enhance understanding and promote self-management. Monitor client progress consistently, adjusting treatment plans as necessary based on ongoing assessments and feedback. Maintain close coordination with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated care and comprehensive treatment. Stay informed about recent advances in mood disorder research and incorporate new strategies into your therapeutic approach, enhancing the quality of care provided. Adhere to legal and ethical guidelines by maintaining accurate and confidential client records. Engage in case consultations, team meetings, and continuous professional development workshops to optimize your clinical skills. Advocate for clients’ needs and work to reduce stigmas associated with mental health treatment and mood disorders. Patient Population / Client Focus The Urban Renewal Center serves a diverse clientele, including individuals facing mood disorders such as depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. Additionally, we provide support to specific groups, including homeless individuals, refugees, and survivors of domestic violence. As a therapist, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a supportive environment that encourages healing and resilience. Qualifications A current and active state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). A Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a closely related field. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, allowing for the establishment of trusting therapeutic relationships. An empathetic, compassionate, and nonjudgmental approach toward clients, respecting their unique experiences and struggles. Strong organizational and time management skills, essential for effectively handling caseloads and meeting administrative requirements. Preferred Experience Previous experience in a community mental health setting is highly desirable. Familiarity with trauma-informed care practices and holistic treatment models. Experience working with vulnerable populations, including those affected by socioeconomic challenges. Compensation and Benefits A competitive annual salary ranging from $70,000 to $90,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
