Specialized Early-Learning/Reading Intervention Educator

Bridgeway Developmental Services is seeking a highly experienced, compassionate, and creative educator to lead and teach the Bridge to Kindergarten program and provide individualized reading intervention to children who learn differently.

This is a hands-on role for an educator who understands that children develop and learn in different ways and who can create a structured, supportive, and engaging environment while meeting each child’s individual developmental and academic needs.

The ideal candidate is confident working independently, comfortable leading a small group of up to four students, and passionate about early childhood development, literacy, neurodiversity, and alternative approaches to learning.

What You’ll Do

Bridge to Kindergarten Program

• Lead and independently manage a small-group of up to 4 students at a time, aged 3-6 years old. 
• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate, engaging lessons
• Provide individualized and differentiated instruction based on each child’s strengths, needs, and learning profile
• Support foundational literacy, pre-reading, phonological awareness, early writing, attention, executive functioning, social-emotional development, and classroom readiness
• Incorporate multisensory, play-based, movement-based, and hands-on learning strategies
• Support children with varying developmental and learning profiles, including children with ASD and other neurodevelopmental differences
• Create a predictable, nurturing classroom environment with strong classroom management and clear expectations
• Implement and contribute to group-based programming and curriculum development
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
• Provide parents with a progress report for each student every 8 weeks. 

Individual Reading Intervention

• Provide 1:1 reading intervention for children with reading difficulties and/or dyslexia
• Deliver systematic, explicit, multisensory literacy instruction
• Individualize instruction based on student assessment results and ongoing progress monitoring
• Track student growth and adjust intervention plans as needed
• Communicate progress and instructional recommendations to parents
• Collaborate with families to support consistency between home and the learning environment

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in one of the following or a related field:
• • Education
  • Exceptional Student Education (ESE)
  • Speech-Language Pathology
  • Psychology
  • Early Childhood Education
  • Related field
• Minimum of 7 years of teaching experience
• Demonstrates experience independently managing a classroom or small group
• Ability to independently manage and instruct up to 4 students at a time
• Strong classroom management skills
• Experience with lesson planning and curriculum implementation
• Experience leading group programs
• Ability to assess student learning and differentiate instruction
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to write professional progress reports and provide meaningful parent feedback
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and adapt instruction to individual learners

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with one or more of the following are strongly preferred:

• Master’s degree in a related field 
• Reading Specialist certification or credential
• Orton-Gillingham certification
• SLPA license/certification
• COTA license/certification
• Training or experience with developmental therapy models such as:
• • DIR/Floortime
  • PLAY Project
  • Other developmental or relationship-based approaches
• Experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
• Experience in early childhood education and development
• Experience supporting children with developmental delays, sensory differences, attention challenges, learning differences, or other neurodevelopmental needs
• Experience providing structured literacy or dyslexia intervention
• Knowledge of multisensory and evidence-based reading instruction
