Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

The Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care in the operating room setting, focusing on adult to geriatric patients. The role requires both circulating and scrub experience across various specialties, including General, Neuro, Spine, Ortho, Robotics, Urology, Vascular, and Colorectal surgery.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain a sterile environment for surgical procedures.
• Assist with patient positioning, draping, and preparation for surgical interventions.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure the quality of care and patient safety.
• Monitor patients' vital signs and respond to changes during procedures.
• Document and record relevant patient information and surgical data accurately.
• Participate in the education of patients and their families regarding post-operative care.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in an operating room setting. First-time travelers are accepted.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Experience in circulating and scrubbing is mandatory.

Work Environment

This position involves working in a main operating room with 16 surgical suites and an average daily census of 35 cases. Familiarity with unit systems such as Epic, Pyxis, and Da Vinci XI Robots is preferred.

Scheduling & Availability

• Four 10-hour shifts per week, with hours from 06:30 to 17:00.
• Available for 2-3 weekends within an 8-week schedule, either on-call or in-house.
• Expectation to take 7-8 call shifts over an 8-week period, including 1 weekend call and additional weekday night calls.
• Must be available to work on major holidays, with specific expectations based on the holiday schedule.

Compliance & Screening

Full compliance is required to ensure a timely start. Candidates will undergo a clinical pre-screening process to assess their clinical fit for the position. If clinical evaluation is successful, candidates will be reviewed by management for final selection.

• Maximum request for time off is 7 days, with specific blackout dates during Spring Break.
