Scope of the position:

The EHS Coordinator role encompasses hazard identification and risk reduction, regulatory compliance, employee training, incident investigation, emergency preparedness, environmental management, contractor safety, audits, and continuous improvement. He/she works with all levels of the organization to prevent injuries, protect the environment, reduce carbon emissions and support the BEA Sustainability roadmap, and promote a strong culture of safety, sustainable practices and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Conducts inspections, risk assessments, job hazard analyses, and audits; identify hazards and track corrective actions to completion.

• Implements and maintains the risk analysis of all work centers & workplaces.

• Defines and formalizes health and safety and environmental procedures.

• Trains (new) staff on health, safety and environmental aspects.

• Investigates incidents, near misses, injuries, and environmental concerns; documents findings, implements corrective & preventive actions and escalates significant issues as needed.

• Monitors and follow the progress of remedial, corrective and improvement actions relating to EHS.

• Maintains EHS records, metrics, permits, training records, OSHA logs, and regulatory submissions; communicates trends and concerns to management.

• Ensures that H&S and environmental regulatory monitoring is kept up to date and that the relevant compliance requirements are met (OSHA, EPA, state, and local EHS requirements).

• Coordinates emergency preparedness activities, including drills, first-aid readiness, spill response, and evacuation procedures.

• Partners with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Human Resources, leadership, and global EHS teams to support safe work practices, reporting, carbon reduction efforts, and continuous improvement.

• Coordinates BEA Inc. activities supporting Halma's carbon reduction program, including emissions data collection, implementation of approved reduction initiatives, and progress reporting.

• Implement and maintain an environmental management system to prepare a future ISO14001 certification (which will need to be combined with the existing ISO9001 certification in place.)

• With the support of the local Quality and Purchasing team, and assistance from head office, manages and maintains skills and compliance with key US environmental legislation such as PROP65, TSCA, Conflict Minerals Regulation etc.

Competencies

Requirements:

Degree(s) or certification(s): Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field preferred; an associate degree or equivalent relevant experience may be considered.

Re-certification requirements: N/A

Professional experience required (min.): Minimum of 3 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or operational environment preferred, including experience leading or coordinating day-to-day safety activities.


Technical Competencies

• Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, state, and local EHS requirements required; familiarity with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, or similar systems preferred.
• Familiar with the key concepts & principles of ESG & Sustainability (ex: Carbon footprint management Scope 1,2 & 3 ; circular Economy & Eco-Desing)
• Hands-on experience with audits, inspections, incident investigations, root cause analysis, employee training, and corrective action follow-up required.
• OSHA 30-Hour and First Aid/CPR/AED certifications preferred; ASP, CSP, CHMM, HAZWOPER, or similar certifications are a plus.

IT skills

• Microsoft Office proficiency required; experience maintaining EHS records and using EHS reporting systems preferred.

• Strong communication and coaching skills, with the ability to explain safety requirements clearly, provide practical guidance, and work effectively across all levels of the organization.
