Manages Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and Mental Health Technicians.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesStaff Management:Interviews and selects new team membersPerformance evaluations and coaching of nursing staffDisciplinary actions when necessary in collaboration with HR and UnionScheduling and assigning staff to patient needsAddressing staff concerns and conflictsProviding ongoing training and development opportunitiesPatient Care Oversight:Monitoring patient conditions and assessing care qualityReviewing patient documentation and ensuring accuracyIdentifying and addressing potential patient safety issuesCommunicating with physicians and other healthcare providers regarding patient careResponding to emergencies and coordinating Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) protocolsOperational Management:Maintaining budgeted resource allocation for the Residential nursing units; acts fiscally responsibleEnsuring compliance with hospital policies and proceduresOverseeing medication administration and controlled substance management with resolution of discrepanciesMonitoring equipment and supplies inventoryCoordinating with other departments on campusOther duties as assigned by Chief Nursing OfficerLeadership and Communication:o In collaboration with CNO, responsible for implementing strategic plano Maintains professional and regulatory standardsFacilitating effective communication between staff, physicians, and other departmentsPromoting a positive work environment and staff moraleParticipating in quality improvement initiativesUtilizes the SBAR communication formatApplies the Safe Crisis Management techniques and assists patients, families, and other customers with concern and empathyRespects patient confidentiality and privacyAnswers telephone calls promptly and professionallyEagleville Hospital is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE)QualificationsEducational RequirementsGraduate of accredited school of nursingBSN or MSN preferredCurrent Pennsylvania State license (RN)Active Advance Life Support (ACLS) certificationPhysical RequirementsThe person needs to occasionally move about inside the officeMust move between buildings and unitsOccasionally ascends/descends stairsOccasionally transports or moves small to large itemsWork EnvironmentExposure to infectious diseasesRequired to intervene in psychiatric emergenciesScheduled according to the needs of the organization- weekends and three out of six holidays required
