About the Role:

The Life Enrichment Coordinator plays a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of life for residents by designing, implementing, and overseeing engaging and meaningful activities tailored to their interests and abilities. This position requires a compassionate and creative individual who can assess resident needs and preferences to develop programs that promote socialization, cognitive stimulation, and physical well-being. The coordinator collaborates closely with healthcare staff, families, and community resources to ensure a holistic approach to resident enrichment. Success in this role results in improved resident satisfaction, increased participation in activities, and a vibrant community atmosphere. Ultimately, the Life Enrichment Coordinator fosters an environment where residents feel valued, connected, and motivated to engage in daily life fully.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Therapy, Social Work, Gerontology, or a related field preferred.
• Experience working with older adults or individuals with disabilities in a recreational or therapeutic setting.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to develop and lead group activities and individual engagement plans.
• Basic computer proficiency for documentation and scheduling.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) or equivalent.
• Experience in a long-term care, assisted living, or senior community environment.
• Training in CPR and First Aid.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and activity management software.
• Bilingual abilities or experience working with diverse populations.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, plan, and implement a diverse range of recreational and therapeutic activities that cater to the physical, emotional, and social needs of residents.
• Conduct assessments to identify resident interests, abilities, and goals to personalize activity plans effectively.
• Coordinate with healthcare professionals and family members to integrate enrichment activities with individual care plans.
• Organize special events, outings, and group activities that encourage community involvement and social interaction.
• Maintain accurate records of participation, progress, and feedback to evaluate program effectiveness and make necessary adjustments.
• Manage and train volunteers and activity aides to support program delivery and resident engagement.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and facility policies related to resident activities and safety.
