The Safe & Sound Teacher is responsible for leading classroom operations and day-to-day activities.

Job Responsibilities:

• Create and Implement Curriculum: Design and implement engaging and age-appropriate educational activities that promote learning and development in areas such as social skills, language, and motor development.
• Lead and Supervise: Supervise and guide a team of assistant teachers, providing support, training, and mentorship to ensure best practices are followed.
• Child Development: Observe and assess children’s progress and development, providing feedback to parents, caregivers, and management as needed.
• Ensure Safety: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment. Ensure that all safety policies and procedures are followed.

Performance Expectations:

• Build Positive Relationships: Develop strong, trusting relationships with children and their families, ensuring open communication and a welcoming, inclusive environment.
• Behavior Management: Implement positive behavior management techniques to encourage positive social interactions, emotional regulation, and conflict resolution.
• Compliance: Adhere to all licensing and regulatory requirements, ensuring the daycare center is in full compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Communication: Maintain clear and professional communication with parents, staff, and management regarding daily activities, milestones, and concerns.
• Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the Director or Management team.

Qualifications:

• Education CDA, associate's degree or higher in early childhood education or a related field preferred.
• Experience: Previous experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting.
• Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must have knowledge of child development, strong teamwork and communication skills, a nurturing approach, meet licensing and background requirements, and hold or obtain First Aid/CPR certification.

Required Trainings:

• Employee Health and Safety Trainings.
• CPR & first aid.
• Child abuse.
• Communicable disease.
• Required OCCRA trainings.

Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, lifting children (up to 40 pounds), reaching, crouching, crawling, and sometimes carrying heavy supplies, all while maintaining constant supervision and quick responsiveness to children's needs, especially in a fast-paced environment; essentially requiring good mobility and physical stamina throughout the workday.
