Underwriting Analyst

Job Title: Underwriting Analyst Company: QC Capital Location: Charlotte, NC (Fully In-Office) Employment Type: Full-Time Position Overview QC Capital is seeking a results‑driven Underwriting Analyst to support the firm’s investment strategy through rigorous financial analysis, risk assessment, and deal evaluation. This role operates at the core of the acquisitions lifecycle, partnering cross‑functionally with leadership, acquisitions, and asset management teams to drive data‑informed investment decisions. The ideal candidate brings a balanced blend of analytical rigor, market insight, and operational discipline. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive financial underwriting for prospective real estate and private equity investments, including cash flow modeling, IRR projections, and sensitivity analyses. Evaluate investment opportunities through detailed review of financial statements, rent rolls, operating performance, and market comparables. Develop and maintain advanced financial models to support acquisition and portfolio management initiatives. Perform market research and competitive analysis to validate assumptions and identify emerging trends. Partner with acquisitions team to support deal structuring, pricing strategies, and investment committee presentations. Prepare investment memorandums, executive summaries, and supporting materials for internal stakeholders. Assist in due diligence processes, including coordination with third‑party vendors, legal teams, and internal departments. Monitor and report on portfolio performance, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions where necessary. Ensure data integrity and consistency across underwriting models and reporting outputs. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or a related field required. 3–6+ years of experience in underwriting, financial analysis, investment analysis, or a related discipline. Strong proficiency in financial modeling and advanced Excel capabilities (e.g., complex formulas, scenario modeling). Working knowledge of real estate investment principles, capital markets, and valuation methodologies. Experience with underwriting multifamily, commercial real estate, or private equity deals preferred. Familiarity with underwriting and data tools (e.g., Argus, CoStar, Yardi, or similar platforms) is a plus. Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment. Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
