Construction Inspector

Job Description The City of Moreno Valley is hiring a Construction Inspector to oversee public works and capital projects. The role ensures construction activities adhere to approved plans, specifications, safety requirements, and regulatory standards. The inspector works closely with city officials, contractors, engineers, utility providers, developers, and property owners to facilitate successful project delivery while safeguarding public interests. Responsibilities Conduct detailed inspections of construction sites, evaluate materials and workmanship, and monitor contractor compliance. Document project activities, perform field testing and inspections, and prepare comprehensive project reports. Ensure compliance with specifications and safety standards, identifying potential issues and recommending corrective actions. Ideal Candidate Extensive technical knowledge of construction methods, materials, and relevant regulations. Hands‑on experience inspecting public infrastructure and large‑scale projects. Strong understanding of engineering principles and applicable codes. Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills. Detail‑oriented, professional, and customer‑focused. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalent. Two years of experience in construction inspection. Six years of trade experience working on large public works construction projects, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
