Responsibilities Essential Job Functions: Greet, engage, and assist customers actively and visibly. Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently. Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders such as Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures per company policy. Adhere to company limits on cash shortages and overages, working honestly to control loss. Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs). Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator. Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons. Stay updated on current, upcoming, seasonal, and special ads. Comply with all food safety regulations and guidelines. Reinforce safety programs, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management. Inspect equipment regularly and report repairs needed. Create a welcoming environment, answering questions about products. Follow all relevant laws and company guidelines. Work effectively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment. Manage conflicts cooperatively and non-confrontationally. Act with honesty and integrity concerning customer and business information. Follow directions and seek assistance when needed. Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults. Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
