Company: Overland Contracting Inc Req Id: 114679 Job Title: Warehouse Journeyman, Solar – Mulberry, Florida Location: PJMULBERR6 Opportunity Type: Craft (non‑union) Full time/Part time: Full‑Time Relocation eligible: No Visa Sponsorship Available: No Job Summary: Perform daily operations for project warehouse facilities including material receiving and handling, inventory maintenance and control, filing of field requisitions, staging and preparation of materials for field installation, and issuance of material, tools, equipment and fleet. Work closely with discipline superintendents, construction teams, site management and office personnel. Key Responsibilities Move freight, stock or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, ships, or containers, by hand or using trucks, tractors or other equipment. Sort cargo before or after loading or unloading. Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information. Observe incoming materials, equipment or systems to determine hazards and act so as to not expose yourself or others to the observed hazards. Handle shipping and receiving documentation; read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs. Assist with project mobilization and demobilization planning and coordination. Verify purchase orders against packing lists. Evaluate small tools and equipment and complete necessary repairs. Perform routine maintenance work on tools and equipment. Examine or inspect tools and equipment conditions and identify problems, inaccuracies and cost‑saving opportunities. Take corrective action as needed. Enter data into automated asset/materials systems and maintain accurate records. Participate in all safety‑related processes and programs as requested. Engage with your team to ensure we achieve zero injuries. Identify and eliminate or mitigate safety hazards; support lockout‑tag‑out procedures. Attend site‑specific training and adhere to all procedures outlined in training. Use effective verbal and written communication skills. Coordinate work with other crafts and co‑workers on the job. Provide on‑the‑job training and/or mentoring to helpers and laborers. Preferred Qualifications One or more of the following NCCER Certifications: NCCER Rigger, NCCER Heavy Equipment Operations. Minimum Qualifications At least 3 years of experience working in a warehouse or similar craft, strong knowledge of material receiving and handling, inventory management, staging and preparation of material for field installation, and issuance of materials, tools and equipment. Must be able to understand and follow directions, and possess all necessary tools. Must be at least 18 years of age. All applicants must be able to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements (criminal/civil background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records search) in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Certifications NCCER Rigger NCCER Heavy Equipment Operations Physical Demands Lift and carry heavy items up to 50 pounds. Stand, kneel, bend, stoop, move in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven areas. Full range of motion and flexibility consistent with job duties. Use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls according to a set procedure. Perform repetitive movements. Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds. Work up to a 12‑hour shift in varying temperature extremes and other outside conditions. Work Environment Typical construction site environment. Work in cramped spaces and awkward positions. Exposure to very hot (above 90 °F) or very cold (below 32 °F) temperatures and inclement weather such as dust, wind, snow, rain. Exposure to bright or inadequate lighting conditions. Work around hazardous equipment. Position is safety‑sensitive.
