Application Developer

OverviewJob PurposeThe Application Developer role is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining application features in alignment with business requirements and sprint commitments. The role operates within an established SDLC and Agile delivery model, using Jira for sprint planning and tracking and Bitbucket for source control and code collaboration.ResponsibilitiesDeliver well-defined tasks under guidanceFollow established patterns and escalate blockersIndependently deliver features end-to-endBreak down work and support junior developersStay up to date with the latest technological trends and tools and suggest improvements to existing systems and workflowsServe as a key point of contact for clients’ technical requests, working directly with them to understand their needs and provide timely, effective solutionsApplication DevelopmentDesign, develop, and maintain application features based on approved requirementsWrite clean, maintainable, and secure code aligned with development standardsParticipate in the full development lifecycle: design, build, test, deploy, and supportAgile Delivery & Sprint ExecutionParticipate in Jira-based Agile ceremoniesExecute work within sprint commitments and timelinesMaintain accurate Jira ticket updatesEscalate delivery risks earlySource Control & Code ManagementUse Bitbucket for version control and pull requestsFollow branching and commit standardsParticipate in code reviewsTesting & QualityPerform appropriate testing and validate changes prior to releaseSupport defect remediationDocumentation & CollaborationDocument implementation details and collaborate with cross-functional teamsKnowledge and ExperienceTools & PlatformsJira (Sprint planning and tracking)Bitbucket (Source control and code reviews)CI/CD pipelines (as applicable)Development Languages & FrameworksPrimary Languages: PHP, Javascript, HTML/CSS Frameworks / Libraries: CakePHP, JQuery, Node, React Databases / Data Stores: MySQL, MongoDBOS / Server: Linux, ApacheCloud / Platform Technologies: Amazon Web Services (S3, EC2, etc.)Success MeasuresSprint commitment predictabilityCode quality and defect ratesJira accuracy and documentation qualityCollaboration and mentorship effectiveness#LI-MA2 Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
