Manager In Training (Part-Time)

Summary Manager in Training is responsible for assisting the Store Manager with overall operations and administrative duties. The role requires knowledge of each product area, helps determine methods to achieve store goals, upholds company policies, and promotes a unique customer experience. Location: Great Bend, Kansas (Cottonwood Center), R301US. Responsibilities Assist the Store Manager in controlling assets of the store. Consult with the Store Manager to establish action plans for departmental and store responsibilities such as selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling. Assume responsibility for the entire store in the absence of the Store Manager. Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers across all departments. Monitor inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to ensure profitability. Direct staff to complete departmental responsibilities and standards. Keep the Store Manager informed about inventory movement and customer trends. Ensure quality customer service is maintained. Perform general administrative duties as needed. Deliver extraordinary customer service as highlighted in the customer service manual. Promote and sell services and merchandise offered by the company. Practice and uphold all company policies, procedures, and standards as listed in various manuals and memos. Protect company assets and financial information by ensuring accurate internal controls and reporting potential fraud risks. Supervisory Responsibilities Supervise employees in the absence of the Store Manager. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, training, planning, assigning, directing work, and resolving problems. Qualifications Experience working in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel. 1–3 years of customer service experience. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment. Ability to assist in managing a team and keep up with overall goals and profits. Self‑starter with initiative to take on important tasks without being asked. Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with precision.
