Job Title: Operating Room Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse (RN) Specialty: Operating Room (OR) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days, Monday - Friday Hours per Shift: 4x10s, starting at 6:30 AM with rotating days off Experience: - 24 months of current operating room experience - Circulating/operating room experience - Experience in general cases, da Vinci robotics, pediatrics, and trauma License: - Active Iowa license or compact/multistate license Certifications: - AHA/Active American Heart Association or ARC/AMERICAN RED CROSS BLS Must-Have: - Experience in trauma level II or higher - No first-time travelers; must have completed a travel assignment within the previous 15 months Description: Quickly interviewing viable candidates. Local radius rule: No local candidates; all candidates must be at least 50 miles from the facility based on the driver's license. Employee separation policy: Any past employee cannot work travel in another market regardless of the facility they currently work at or have worked at within the past 12 months. Holiday update: Unless the unit is closed, the contractor is required to work 1-2 of the 3 upcoming winter holidays. Call back policy: RN must clock out, leave the premises, and then be called back in to qualify for call back pay. On-call: $9/hour. Charge/precept pay: $6/hour. Patient types include cardiac, neuro, ortho (primarily trauma), robotics, gyn, uro, general, pediatrics, and transplants. Expectation for turnovers is less than 20 minutes. Average caseload: 35-50 cases per day. The unit has 16 ORs and routinely runs 12-14. Scrubbing experience in orthopedic cases is highly preferred. There is a call schedule for weekends. The traveler will be required to float across all campuses.
