The Role The Shipping & Receiving Associate is responsible for receiving incoming materials and shipping outbound orders accurately, safely, and on schedule. This position plays a critical role in supporting manufacturing and fulfillment operations by keeping material moving — from the dock to stock, and from the floor to the customer — accurately and efficiently. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Receive inbound shipments; unload trucks and verify contents against packing lists and purchase orders. Inspect incoming materials for damage, shortages, or discrepancies and record receipts accurately in the inventory system. Move received materials to stock, staging, or production areas promptly and safely (dock-to-stock). Pick, pack, and stage outbound orders according to pick lists, shipping instructions, and customer requirements. Prepare shipping documentation — packing slips, carrier labels, and bills of lading — accurately and completely. Coordinate with carriers and freight providers on pickups and ensure shipments leave on time. Operate pallet jacks, forklifts, and other material-handling equipment safely and effectively. Perform cycle counts and support inventory accuracy and reconciliation. Keep dock, staging, and warehouse areas clean, organized, and compliant with 5S and safety standards. Follow all company safety policies, quality procedures, and standard operating procedures. Work collaboratively with supervisors, production, quality, and logistics team members. Assist with other warehouse or manufacturing duties as assigned. Requirements High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous shipping/receiving, warehouse, or inventory experience preferred but not required. Ability to read and follow written work instructions, packing lists, and shipping documents. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate counts, records, and documentation. Forklift certification (or ability to obtain) and experience with RF scanners or ERP/WMS systems a plus. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Dependable attendance and punctuality. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday. Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to safely operate material-handling equipment, including pallet jacks and forklifts. Ability to read labels, part numbers, and shipping documents accurately. Work Environment Warehouse, dock, and production floor environment. Regular exposure to material-handling equipment, carrier trucks, and moving pallets. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required depending on the work area. Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required to meet shipping demands.
