OneSparQ is looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for an electrical equipment manufacturing company in Pompano Beach, FL.

This position will support the design and engineering of low and medium voltage power distribution systems.

Required Skills:

• 5+ years of experience in mechanical or design engineering
• Strong product development experience
• Experience designing equipment involving electric motors, heaters, controls, power distribution, or other electrically powered mechanical systems
• Proficiency in designing in a CAD program; preferably SolidWorks
• Basic understanding of electrical fundamentals such as current, voltage, etc.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field

Additional Skills: (not required)

• Experience with controls, conveyor systems, industrial machinery, marine equipment, or similar electro-mechanical products
• Experience designing within physical/enclosure size constraints
• Experience with equipment used in indoor and outdoor environments
• Proficiency in SolidWorks

Responsibilities:

• Design electrical panels, enclosures, and power distribution equipment using 3D SolidWorks
• Create 3D models, assemblies, and detailed manufacturing drawings
• Design the physical layout and mounting of electrical components inside enclosures
• Design around enclosure size, spacing, access, and clearance requirements
• Select and design mechanical components, brackets, hardware, and mounting features
• Ensure designs can be fabricated, assembled, and serviced efficiently
• Prepare drawings, BOMs, and documentation for manufacturing
• Work with Electrical Engineering and production to resolve design and assembly questions
• Support prototype builds, testing, and design changes as needed
