Maintenance MechanicReports to: Maintenance ManagerExempt Status: Non-ExemptSummary: Responsible for all equipment maintenance and repairs, performed and recorded according to schedule. Communicates with other departments and managers to prioritize projects across departments to meet Company and department goals and objectives. Communication should be well in advance of missing planned maintenance scheduleBe effective model for teamwork, respect all employees, and portray a positive, can-do attitudeKeep complete, accurate, and timely recordsAchieve measurable continuous improvement in productivity, quality, and waste reductionLevel 2 (Including knowledge of previous levels)Knowledge of how to operate a variety of hand and power toolsRespirator certification, usage, cleaning and storageAbility to read, interpret and follow documents such as safety rules, operation manuals and maintenance instructionsAbility to troubleshoot mechanical failures of equipment and replace parts or make adjustments as neededAbility to perform preventive maintenance on production equipmentAbility to keep accurate timeline for equipment repairs for more precise downtime trackingLevel 3 (Including knowledge of previous levels)Ability to read schematics and drawingsDemonstrate ability to use QT9 for the purpose of PM work orders and machine repair work ordersAbility to use a multi-meter to test electrical componentsAbility to diagnose and repair simple computer to printer communication failuresDemonstrate professional communication skills coupled with sound decision makingLevel 4 (Including knowledge of previous levels)Diagnose and repair lower level AC failures (capacitors/fan motors) and repair electrical failures on production equipmentAbility to perform general building maintenanceAbility to use downtime tracking as a way to reduce/eliminate recurring failuresAbility to work on drive systems (bearing installation, pulley alignment and belt installation) and ensure that all components are properly aligned and tensioned after installationAbility to do small plumbing projectsLevel 5 (Including knowledge of previous levels)Ability to keep all equipment in building 2 running without assistanceDiagnose and repair failures on the Glaze Coat Filling machines, and electrical failures on Glaze Coat in-line blending (Sonic) machineDiagnose and repair mechanical and electrical failures on All-Fill SF filling machineDiagnose and repair failures on Leibinger inkjet printers, and desktop printers.Diagnose and repair failures on both circle label and box label applicatorsDiagnose and repair hydraulic failures on putty mixersDiagnose and repair failures on stretch wrap machinesDemonstrate ability to set-up/program AP data weigh in-motion check weighersLevel 6 (Including knowledge of previous levels)Ability to keep all equipment in building 1 running without assistanceDiagnose and repair mechanical and electrical failures on Alloyd blister packaging machines, Norden filling machines, and Prosys filling machinesDiagnose and repair hydraulic failures on SB putty mixers, failures on adhesive mixers, and failures stretch wrap machines.Ability to set-up/program Ishida check weighers on filling machinesLevel 7 (Including knowledge of previous levels)Ability to keep all equipment in building 3 running without assistanceDiagnose and repair mechanical and electrical failures on All-Fill SB putty filling machine, PMI automatic case packager, ESS V-30 robotic case packager, adhesive mixers, and SB putty ribbon blendersProgramming robotic arm, via teach pendant, to be able to modify locations for more efficient and precise movementsLevel 8 (Including knowledge of previous levels)Create purchase requisitions and receive product in IFSTrack downtime, Continually look for ways to minimize downtime, and to look for ways to more accurately track downtimeScheduling machine downtime and personnel for machine PM's,andNon-Essential Duties:Assist in improving operators skills and training for the purposes of improved machine operation and maintenanceMaintain clean and safe work spacePerform miscellaneous duties as requested by supervisorExperience:Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferredMinimum of 2 years related experience and/or training in a manufacturing or production environment (includes mechanical/machinery and/or electrical)Or equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job
