About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President, Global Energy to lead the strategic direction and execution of the organization's energy portfolio. This senior leadership role is pivotal in shaping the future of energy across the global industrial business, with a focus on securing reliable, competitive, and sustainable energy supply. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing the enterprise-wide energy strategy, including governance, risk management, and sustainability. Key accountabilities include leading global energy procurement, commercial negotiations, and optimizing energy costs to support operational competitiveness. The role also involves monitoring energy markets, regulatory changes, and geopolitical risks to inform strategic decisions and commercial opportunities. Candidates for this role at The Company should be commercially astute, purpose-driven, and possess significant senior leadership experience in energy procurement, markets, and commodity management within a global heavy industrial or electro-intensive industrial organization. A deep understanding of various energy commodities, including electricity, natural gas, and renewables, is essential, as is a proven track record in energy risk management and market analytics. The role requires the ability to lead and develop multicultural teams, align regional execution with enterprise strategy, and support large-scale integration initiatives. Executive-level communication, influencing skills, and the ability to partner effectively with internal stakeholders are also key. Knowledge of the South African energy market and regulatory environment is highly beneficial.
