Job Title: Travel RN Stepdown/Tele Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a hospital setting License: Must have a valid state license Certifications: BLS, ACLS required Must-Have: Proficient in telemetry and advanced skills in post-operative nursing care Description: Travel RN Stepdown/Telemetry position available. Two years of experience in a hospital setting is required. Candidates must hold a valid state license. BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory. This role involves working in an 18-bed unit specializing in cardiac procedure patients. Typical patient conditions include STEMI, NSTEMI, and other cardiac-related issues. The unit manages chest pain evaluations, chronic heart failure, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Nursing care includes post-catheterization, chest tube management, high-flow oxygen therapy, and BiPAP usage. Procedures performed on the unit include pericardiocentesis, thoracentesis, peritoneal dialysis, tracheostomy care, pacemaker monitoring, and CIWA assessments. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 4:1. Unit staffing includes five RNs, a clinical nurse coordinator with two patients, two licensed nursing assistants, and a unit clerk. Equipment utilized includes IV pumps, Sara Steady lifts, high-flow systems, BiPAP machines, Kangaroo pumps, Hoyer lifts, and bladder scanners. The documentation system in use is Meditech Expanse. The position requires three 12-hour shifts with an expectation of working every other weekend. The unit is recognized with awards and is known for its excellence, including a Unit of Distinction recognition. Candidates will engage in bedside shift rounds and personal connections with patients to enhance their experience.
