Job Summary: Compensation $28-$33 Per Hour

Responsibilities

The Plant Operator's responsibility is to operate the asphalt plant to produce asphalt that meets quality standards.

Safety And Quality

Participating actively in company safety programs, including safety huddles, one-on-one safety conversations, and reporting of close calls. Promoting safe work practices and excellent safety culture. Reporting any safety issues or incidents immediately. Participating in any safety incident investigation. Following all safety policies and procedures, including LOTOTO, Motor Vehicle Policy, Drug & Alcohol Policy, etc. Wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for all tasks assigned. Working with Plant Manager and Plant Superintendent to continuously improve our safety practices. Maintaining a clean and organized work area to prevent safety hazards.

Identifying issues in equipment that will affect the quality of the product. Identifying and reporting changes in production. Working with onsite laboratory technicians and QC/QA to maintain mix design quality.

Skills

Teamwork and Communication: Working in a team environment; assisting co-workers and supervisors with assigned duties. Communicating openly, honestly, and professionally with co-workers, supervisors, and all others. Working alongside fellow employees to complete assigned tasks sometimes under adverse working conditions to meet goals set forth by management.

Functional/Technical: Identifying and reporting plant deficiencies to the Plant Superintendent so they can be addressed in a timely manner for proper repair. Performing maintenance and repairs with professionalism and quality in mind to maximize plant efficiency. Maintaining plant facilities in a professional manner by keeping tools, equipment, and buildings clean and orderly with safety in mind. Operating asphalt plant and mobile equipment associated with plant operations.
