Job Title: Adjuster II Parts Specialist  Department: Claims

Schedule: Mon – Fri, 8AM – 5PM EST or 7AM – 4PM CST     Reports to : Sr. Manager

Job Description Summary

As a Claims VSC Adjuster II-Parts Specialist, you will play a key role in our operations by assisting in facilitation of escalated part issues (ie: defective/wrong parts issues, core returns, part issues/delays, etc). This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in automotive repairs and diagnostics and a keen understanding of vehicle service contracts. Your primary responsibility will be a liaison between our part vendors and claims department. Your secondary responsibility will be to drive quality, clear expectations, delivery timelines, and service recovery for cores and defective parts. You will drive accuracy, service, and alignment to our internal processes. This position is responsible for developing high-quality customer experiences by leading through change. 

Key Responsibilities

• Monitors powertrain part quote requests and assist in determining best quality part while maintaining cost, taking into consideration cost effectiveness for claim and for contract.
• Meet or exceed established operational KPIs and service-level agreements associated with the role.
• Communicate effectively with part vendors and customers to gather necessary information.
• Utilize automotive part knowledge to effectively communicate all disclaimers and required operations for the supplied part both verbally and in writing via email.
• Maintain accurate records of all part ordering and interactions in the claims management system.
• Provide exceptional customer service and support to all stakeholders.
• Monitors, tracks and assists in facilitation of defective part issues through resolution.
• Respond and document all defective parts and ensure resolution according to process.
• Escalates trends and observations to Procurement Leader for the purpose of impacting training, quality, internal processes and our vendor relationships.
• Assists in limited small part orders through BAP, ACCU, etc.
• Verify the best pricing for parts and labor times while avoiding unnecessary labor overlap.
• Maintain a proactive approach with the handling of your workload, especially during peak volume situations.
• Ensure all claims are appropriately documented for core charges.
• Collaborate with leadership on best practices and streamlining processes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; extensive experience in automotive services is required.
• Proven experience working in an auto mechanical environment.
• Prior leadership experience is a plus.
• Expert knowledge of automotive systems, and diagnostic ability to include internal engine, suspension, brakes, electronic, exhaust, etc.
• Speak and write English (Spanish a plus); communicate effectively and build strong relationships with customers, peers, and management.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals; ability to write simple correspondence.
• Understand and execute instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Use Microsoft software effectively (Word, Excel required).
• Strong organizational skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with supervisors and management.
