Duties

Help

• Produce timely, accurate, and relevant content for internal audiences while coordinating media responses and outreach events.
• Ensure all products and activities comply with DoD and command policies, undergo proper security and policy review, and support operational priorities.
• Provide strategic analysis to command leadership regarding the release of information.
• Create multimedia and written content to enhance the command's image and highlight the organization's mission.
• Serve as the Contracting Officer representative (COR) for commercial contracts related to publication printing and Visual Information (VI) equipment.
• Identify and resolve production issues and equipment procurement challenges.

• This position is designated Tier 3, Non-Critical Sensitive, Moderate Risk and requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance Level as a condition of employment.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1). Facilitate communication among the organization and the public to provide situational awareness to the community; 2). Promote strategic communication campaigns and multimedia production to enhance the visibility of the organization's mission; and 3). Utilize comprehensive technical knowledge of visual information systems to advise leadership and ensure compliance with organizational directives.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Public Relations.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
