IT Technician

Reports ToCOOJob OverviewThe IT Technician is responsible for maintaining essential IT operations, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, phones, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware. They will work with the IT Administrator and vendor partners to create and maintain a dependable and secure IT infrastructure and network.Responsibilities and DutiesPerform server administration tasks, including user/group administration, security permissions, group policies, print services, research event log warnings and errors, and resource monitoring, ensuring system architecture components work together seamlesslySet up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices (routers, printers, etc.)Maintain internal infrastructure requirements including, laptop and desktop computers, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, printers, phones, security updates, support internet, LANs, WANs, and network segmentsProvide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipmentOrganize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their workPerform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging etc.)Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systemsIdentify computer or network equipment shortages and place ordersQualificationsAssociate or bachelor’s degree in technology or computer scienceProven work experience as IT Technician or relevant positionIn depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networksGood knowledge of internet security and data privacy principlesCertification as IT Technician will be an advantage (e.g. CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional)SkillsExcellent communication skillsExcellent diagnostic and problem-solving skillsStrong attention to detailGood organization, time management and prioritizationAbility to explain technical concepts to inexperienced usersGreat customer service and interpersonal skills including patience #J-18808-Ljbffr
