Finishing Operator

Under the direction of, and reporting to the Finishing Lead, the Finishing Operator is responsible for converting Master Rolls into Finished Rolls using Finishing procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform activities related to the setup and operation of Finishing machines, following written procedures and instructions.
• Maintain material quality throughout the slitting operation, ensuring proper print position, roll conformation, and implementation of the hold procedure when necessary.
• Identify and remove defective material using established flagging and inspection procedures.
• Follow shop packet instructions and complete line verification forms accurately.
• Read and follow written procedures and instructions as required.
• Label, sleeve, and box finished goods.
• Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work environment.
• Enter time and quantity information into the shop floor computer system.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Web handling fundamentals.
• Beginner level computer skills.
• English language verbal and written communication skills.
• High school math skills.
• Demonstrate the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to multi-task and work efficiently with team members.
• Demonstrate basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities.

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent standing, walking, and use of hands to operate tools and equipment.
• Ability to lift and move objects over 50 pounds.
• Vision requirements include close vision, color recognition, and focus adjustment.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee infrequently works near moving mechanical parts and is infrequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is quiet – hearing protection is required on the manufacturing floor.

Protective Clothing/ Equipment Required:

Hearing protection, safety shoes, and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) requirements must be worn in all manufacturing areas. Additional PPE may be required as needed.

It is the responsibility of company leadership to ensure that Glenroy employees will be made aware of the potential for product contamination while performing their jobs and daily routines.
