The Code Inspector II reports to the Inspections Supervisor. The primary functions of this position include: Conducting field inspections of structures and materials to identify and resolve code violations Investigating and responding to complaints from the public, staff, and other agencies regarding potential violations Documenting findings and preparing detailed reports and evidence, including materials used in legal proceedings Reviewing Inspector I caseloads and training new inspectors to maintain consistency and accuracy across the team Serving as backup for the Code Compliance Supervisor and providing technical guidance on code interpretation and compliance For a full list of duties, please review the job description. As a mentor to newer inspectors, you lead by example and bring consistency and calm authority to every caseload you touch. In addition to possessing the ability to live out our core and functional values daily, candidates must possess the following requirements: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) 3-4 years of experience in code enforcement or law enforcement, with an emphasis on public contact Valid Arizona driver's license ICC/AACE Zoning Inspector Certification Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the necessary knowledge and abilities to perform the work This position requires a pre-employment background check, physical, and drug screen.
